Common, day to day conversations like different forms of greetings, introduce yourself, to speak in short sentences about the weather, your family, where you live, your work, what you have been doing and what you will be doing. Find your way, go to a shop, etc.
Pronunciation:
Introduction to the specific letters and sounds and pronunciation, getting used to hear modern, spoken Icelandic, by means of practicing and also music.
Grammar:
Basic elements like gender of words, declining of nouns, basic verb conjugation.
Goals for level 2
Vocabulary:
Extending the basic vocabulary.
Pronunciation:
Same approach as level 1.
Grammar:
More on basic elements like gender of words, declining nouns and adjectives, verbs and sentences.
